Intake Process

Step 1 - Contact us

Our intake process begins when Family Supervision Matters is contacted by parents or their legal representatives.

Step 2 - Complete intake form

After receiving the Supervision Intake Form, our experienced team promptly evaluates each application to determine if it meets the required referral criteria. We understand the urgency of families in need, which is why we diligently review and assess each intake form. Rest assured that only applications that meet the necessary criteria will be referred to our team of supervisors for further action.

Step 3 - Intake interview with supervisor

After the referral is accepted, one of our supervisors will arrange an Intake Assessment Interview with each parent promptly. The interview serves as an opportunity for the Supervisor to understand the family’s specific needs and develop a tailored plan of action. The Supervisor will also meet with the child/children in a familiar environment to build rapport and trust.

Step 4 - Schedule of time is organised

Our Supervisor works with parents to develop a schedule of supervised visits that considers their availability. We collaborate with parents to identify a suitable location, such as the family home or another agreed-upon community location. We prioritise safety and ensure that the children are comfortable during visits.

Supervised visits take place at an agreed location, either in the home or community, where safety and comfort for the children are our top priority. In addition to supervised visitations, our child psychologist, Hollie, also offers child reunification therapy, particularly useful for children who have had minimal or no contact with the other parent for a significant period of time.

This service is designed to help children and parents overcome any barriers that may have prevented contact and re-establish a healthy relationship.
